Preacher: The Rev. Gareth Evans, Priest-in-Charge at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Acton.

The Rev. Gareth Evans was born in Lancashire, England and is of Welsh Protestant and Irish Catholic heritage. Ordained in 1996, he served as an assistant priest in a large suburban parish in the North-East of England before moving to the States in the fall of 2000 for post-graduate studies. Most recently he served as rector of St. John's Charlestown. As a priest, he has dedicated himself to sharing the essential teachings of Jesus and remains curious as to how they affect our sense of self, the ordering of our emotions and our desire to find purpose in a God-given future. In his preaching he is dedicated to exploring Jesus' humor and his mischievous compassion.

SOUL PURPOSE is a musical journey designed to show the connection between the environment, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. These are issues that every human must face today, and Grace Church is creating an open environment to come together as a community and confront them together. This event is open to the public, and people of all faiths, backgrounds, genders and races are encouraged to join in the conversation and celebration of our shared future.

A performance by Boston Soul N Roll band Melodeego, (fronted by Grace Church member Peter Malagodi) is accompanied by an environmental awareness workshop called, Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream, created by the Pachamama Alliance. Melodeego recently released its second album inspired by the movement for a thriving, just, sustainable world, called The World Is You.
