Greetings!

It is hard to believe that our first month together has already come to a close! in terms of news this week, we will be having Children's Chapel at 10:15 AM and Church School at 10:30 AM even though Monday is Columbus Day. I hope that everyone enjoyed the Blessing of the Animals Service. I would like to especially thank Caroline and Dylan Crook for serving as reading leaders during Liturgy on Sunday.

I am happy to announce a few new and exciting opportunities for Christian Education at Grace Church. First, we have been invited to participate in a wonderful fellowship opportunity with the Deanery at Christ Church in Needham. The event is a "Pie Making" party to donate pies to the Brookline Food Pantry and takes place on November 17th from 3:00-5:00 PM. If there is enough interest, I think it would be a good idea to get a group together from Grace Church to participate in the event. If you are interested in participating in this event please let Margaret Crook or myself know!

I would also like to remind everyone that we will be having a very special 16th birthday celebration for Caleb Downs. The celebration will be taking place in the Small Hall during coffee hour after worship on Sunday, October 13. I look forward to celebrating with Caleb, his parents and all of Grace Church.

Finally, please be sure to check out our sign up sheets outside of the Small Hall to serve as a Second Adult for Church School. We have a wonderful group of children this year and I promise that if you sign up once and try it out, you will find yourself signing up for more! Christian Education is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to engage in the contextual lessons that are essential to learning what it means to be a Christian. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts, concerns or questions that you have about this wonderful ministry opportunity.

Shalom,

Justin Hood
Director of Christian Education
