Dear Friends,
Last Sunday, January 11, started off with breakfast served by our youth and children! David Barbrow, along with some other adult volunteers, led the children and youth in the kitchen where they prepared a meal for their parents. A special thanks to David and those who helped, as well as those who helped clean-up afterward!
In the classes, the Godly Play class did the Epiphany lesson, in which they redid the story of Advent and Christmas using the Godly Play props. They discussed the importance of the wise men, different kind of kings, and special gifts. Changed our underlays from purple back to green to coincide with the church calendar. The Elementary Class went through a slightly simplified service of baptism. Liam and Marianna acted the part of "twin" babies, Lila was godparent, Jane and Maya were the congregation, and Angus served as our priest. They discussed the reasons we get baptized: To join the church, to symbolize becoming clean, and because Jesus asked us to! The Middle School class helped clean up after Grace Café and then discussed some of the differences in Christian denominations.
