It was wonderful to see people reconnecting after their summer adventures. We are definitely a community that enjoys each others company!
A huge "Thank You!" to Mary Sweezy and Jenny Rosser for organizing the amazing volunteer crew who pulled off another great picnic. It didn't sound like picnic weather at 3am when the deluge hit, but by 11:30 it was perfect! Well done, everyone!
I think my favorite part of the morning was walking outside after the service to see the beautiful and inspiring art created by our young and young-at-heart parishioners with the guidance of Sidewalk Sam. I was privileged to participate in a conversation with Bob (Sidewalk Sam) and some of our youth about their art. We are lucky to have him as our neighbor and therefore part of our community.
Speaking of welcoming back and reconnecting, like many of us, I head for the hills (literally) in the summer. I would be remiss if I did not send a huge "Thank You!" to David Barbrow, who kept this place running smoothly, safely and securely all summer long. We had almost weekly telephone meetings, but David was the person at the front lines getting things done. I am grateful for his co-leadership.
Summer is now over and our exciting fall has begun. Did you know? The Bishop is Coming! The Bishop is Coming! Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 23rd and plan to be here for what promises to be a very full, very exciting morning with Bishop Shaw. You won't want to miss the Grace Discussion Group that day!
Happy New Program Year!
